MURAL_2016_LAKELAND

A RADF PROJECT. OCTOBER

In attempt to keep visitors to the region informed of local history the Cook Shire Council employed several artists to ‘enhance’ public amenity blocks with historical content on the Cape York Road. At Lakeland the locals were heavily involved in what they would like to see representing their town. Workshops were held to involve everyone and the children in particular spent a lot of time on site. Basically covering the rich history spanning over 100 yrs the mural focuses on the multicultural and pastoral development of the area.

This large work took 2 weeks.
